bi-axial-tourbillon-girard-watchThe beginnings of the Bi-axial Tourbillon can be traced far back to the 19th century to the time when the Tourbillon was first invented. The mechanism was designed to improve precision by accommodating irregularities caused by gravity.

Designer Constant Girard was able to take advantage of this ingenuity by fitting the tourbillon into his creation. In 1867, the watch maker unveiled his impressive timepiece at the Paris Universal Exhibition. And the design house of Girard-Perregaux has never turned back since. Constant Girard designed a unique tourbillion with three gold bridges, it won the gold medal.

This passion for technology and innovation is now apparent in the Girard-Perregaux Bi-axial Tourbillon. The timepiece has two concentric cages which permits the multi-dimensional rotations while the internal cage tolerates the balance. Meanwhile, every one minute and 45 seconds, the external cage will perform one revolution to keep the precision.

The Girard-Perregaux Bi-axial Tourbillon has over 110 parts and components. Connoisseurs with a passion for the best in life will definitely find this invention fascinating because it once again pushes the boundaries of watch making.
