Full Moon: Linde Werdelin Oktopus II Moon

LINDE-WERDERLIN-Oktopus-II-Moon-BlackMorten Linde and Jorn Werdelin, the duo behind watch brand Linde Werdelin, have looked skywards for the inspiration behind their latest release – the Oktopus II Moon.

The Moon is the first complication entirely conceived, developed and produced in-house and it’s available in a limited edition of 59 pieces – a specifically chosen number to correspond with two cycles of the moon, each one taking 29-and-a-half days to complete.

The first 12 pieces represent one piece for each moon of the 2013 calendar year are will be titled Oktopus II Moon Gold and feature a rose gold and titanium DLC case with ceramic bezel.

The following 47 limited pieces, presenting a full DLC titanium case with a ceramic bezel and striking blue detailing on the dial, are identified as Oktopus II Moon Black.

Morten Linde commented on the inspiration behind the new pieces saying, “Originally the moon’s influence on men’s lives has always been impactful, moving oceans, moods and inspirations, making it critical to keep track of its phases. This study led to the creation of our modern calendar, allowing a wider understanding of the past and demonstrating a tight connection with time … offering Linde Werdelin watchmakers an additional impulse to develop this complication.”

With the trademark Linde Werdelin aesthetics and a reasonable price tag of CHF 27,000 for the Oktopus II Moon Gold and CHF 12,500 for the Oktopus II Moon Black, we can see these selling out in no time.
